It’s easy to assume that large corporations with well-established businesses prefer to house their central operations in offices with long-term contractual lease agreements.
For some, that may be true. Yet whereas long-term office leases were once the only option, today organisations of all sizes have the ability to choose a more flexible approach - and they’re welcoming it with open arms.
Think City of London, think Hollywood glamour? Perhaps not.
However, the Square Mile is something of a closet diva. It has played its part in scores of films and TV series and is certainly no stranger to the silver screen. The City has been blown up, quarantined, reduced to rubble, and re-built more times than even the most devoted movie-goer can care to remember.
Happily for us, destruction tends to happen safely inside the world of CGI.
Ask any SME business owner about their company culture and there's a 99% chance they'll say it's fantastic. Of course they will - they're proud of the company they've built, the jobs they've created and the progress they've made. But let's be brutally honest. London’s skyline is changing dramatically. Commercial skyscrapers are shooting up across London and in fact, as it stands today there are a staggering 230 new towers currently being built. The Gherkin is about to be accompanied by its cousin ‘The Cucumber’ in Westminster, and ‘The Boomerang’, ‘The Pinnacle’ and ‘The Scalpel’ will be added to the City’s ever-changing skyline over the next couple of years.
Call us biased, but we're not the only ones who think so. It's one of our most popular business centres, and for as long as we've managed floors 6 and 7 of this fabulous building, it's been in high demand. So high, in fact, that when the opportunity arose recently to expand our space, we jumped at the chance. We're gearing up to launch a whole new floor next month, and it's already close to a sell-out!
It doesn't take a scientific study to know that natural light makes us feel good. You only have to spend a day working from a windowless room under a fluorescent beam to understand how different it makes you feel.
