With the last budget this week, before Article 50 is triggered, businesses are looking at cost savings like never before. Since the last financial crisis one of the biggest cost savings has been the move towards more flexible office space solutions. However, there was a time when serviced offices lingered on the edge of the commercial property market. In the 1980s and early 1990s, flexible workspace was a pocket industry with a handful of operators and a smattering of serviced office centres.
There are certain hallmarks of a successful company you can't help but notice. For instance, you recognise their company branding. You know the founder's name. You hear good things about them in conversation. You might even catch yourself humming their advertising jingle.
"A meeting is an event where minutes are kept and hours are lost"
Do you agree or disagree with this sentiment? Judging by the barrage of published research relating to unproductive business meetings, unfortunately it seems most of the working population wholeheartedly agree.
Central London is renowned for its ever-changing skyline - a world-famous city silhouette punctuated by remarkable feats of architecture and award-winning urban developments. Yet in a city gripped by a quest for tireless improvement and evolution, the most refreshing and invigorating places to work aren't necessarily found atop the latest glass skyscraper.
Indeed, London's appeal lies not just in its fascinating and evolving skyline, but also in the hidden surprises and cherished historical gems found at ground level.
Landmark Plc team members and clients joined forces to bake for Macmillan Cancer’s popular World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 30th. Each of the five Landmark locations hosted a coffee morning where clients and staff baked a variety of cakes from Victoria sponges to Gin and Tonic cupcakes.
The variety of cakes and biscuits was very tempting and clearly proved popular with everyone in each of the locations, raising over £1,484 for the charity.
Landmark Plc got involved in the popular Open House London series of events across the capital last weekend, to open up one of the City’s hidden gems, Holland House, to the public.
The result was nothing short of astounding. The organisers had expected around 250 visitors to attend, but more than 1,500 took the tour around the building over the two days. One visitor said: ‘‘everybody wants to see The Gherkin, but Holland House is the one with the ‘wow’ factor.’’
Look around your workplace and answer this simple question: Where's your least favourite place?
We're willing to bet it's the meeting room.
You can have the world's most beautiful meeting room at your disposal (ahem, we think these meeting rooms are worthy contenders), yet you still can't wait to get out of there. Why? Because many meetings are long, drawn-out and painfully unproductive. Meeting agendas have an ugly habit of expanding merely to fill allocated time slots.

We have a great variety of clients at Landmark Plc and this series of podcasts gives us the opportunity to find out who they are, what makes them tick and to share their stories with you.
