The arrival of March is a fresh and joyous time of year illustrated by Spring bulbs, longer days and warmer weather. It's no surprise that employees tend to feel brighter, happier and more positive as they shake off the winter blues.
With the last budget this week, before Article 50 is triggered, businesses are looking at cost savings like never before. Since the last financial crisis one of the biggest cost savings has been the move towards more flexible office space solutions. However, there was a time when serviced offices lingered on the edge of the commercial property market. In the 1980s and early 1990s, flexible workspace was a pocket industry with a handful of operators and a smattering of serviced office centres.
"A meeting is an event where minutes are kept and hours are lost"
Do you agree or disagree with this sentiment? Judging by the barrage of published research relating to unproductive business meetings, unfortunately it seems most of the working population wholeheartedly agree.
2017 is here, and what better way to fire up the New Year than a stimulating meeting of the minds?
It's the perfect time to set up an inspirational meeting, get the team together and thrash out plans for the quarter. And given the seasonal tendency for 'January blues', the more stimulating and motivational your surroundings, the better.
Landmark Plc team members and clients joined forces to bake for Macmillan Cancer’s popular World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 30th. Each of the five Landmark locations hosted a coffee morning where clients and staff baked a variety of cakes from Victoria sponges to Gin and Tonic cupcakes.
The variety of cakes and biscuits was very tempting and clearly proved popular with everyone in each of the locations, raising over £1,484 for the charity.
Look around your workplace and answer this simple question: Where's your least favourite place?
We're willing to bet it's the meeting room.
You can have the world's most beautiful meeting room at your disposal (ahem, we think these meeting rooms are worthy contenders), yet you still can't wait to get out of there. Why? Because many meetings are long, drawn-out and painfully unproductive. Meeting agendas have an ugly habit of expanding merely to fill allocated time slots.
If there's one thing that's guaranteed to make Sunday evening a little easier, it's having a clear plan for Monday morning.
But in honour of work/life balance, Monday planning shouldn't be done on a Sunday. That, in our book, is akin to putting milk in your tea before adding hot water. The trouble is that Friday afternoons aren't necessarily a good time either. Aside from finishing on time for happy hour, Friday afternoons are often crammed with loose ends and last-minute deadlines.
