About Covent Garden
Garden Studios occupies a central location close to the main Covent Garden thoroughfare, Long Acre. This enviable location means the business centre is close to the many shops and cafes around the Piazza, which is a great place for time away from the office.
The area is popular with theatre goers and is home to many leading theatres including the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane and the Donmar Warehouse, famous for its contemporary plays and reworked classics.
Once home to London’s principal fruit and vegetable market until the early 1980’s, Covent Garden went through an extensive period of redevelopment to create a thriving shopping and entertainment destination. It’s now home to many global retailers including Zara, Paul Smith and Dior. In addition there are many highly rated restaurants around Covent Garden, like The Ivy, Hawksmoor and Rules, the city’s oldest restaurant, which has been serving classic British food since 1798.
The area is also known for a number of famous landmarks. In addition to the Royal Opera House, there is the world renowned luxury hotel, The Savoy on The Strand, St Martin’s in-the-Field church, designed by James Gibbs and Seven Dials, which is a busy Covent Garden intersection with a number of shops and cafes and home to businesses like nearby Yahoo and Angel’s, the celebrated costumiers.
