Landmark art and toys

Landmark Art

Since commencing business in February 2000 the Company has pursued a policy of providing original and interesting artwork for display in common areas and offices throughout its centres. Work has been chosen not only to add visual content but to provide stimulating dialogue. The collection numbers over 400 and is being added to on a regular basis.

A recent installation was The Banner Project, a 40 metre long cross media textile commissioned by Landmark which is displayed down the full length of the central stairwell at Royal Mint Court.

The work, created by Denise Wyllie and Clare O’Hagan, examines the growing awareness of the biological blueprint, DNA and the vital role it plays in the development of medical research.

As part of a continuing commitment to support young and emerging artists, Landmark sponsor the Wimbledon College of Art’s Degree Show catalogue as well as offering annual cash prizes to students producing work of outstanding quality.

Landmark Toys

Offices should be fun and the Company’s tin toy collection, some of which are displayed in what was the Barclays Trophy Room at Royal Mint Court - demonstrates this to good effect

The collection numbers some 125 pieces mostly tin toys manufactured from 1900 to 1960. British toymakers dominate the collection although there are some fine examples of German makers who produced very high quality toys in the first half of the 20th century and are highly sought after.

It is no surprise that the most popular meeting room at Royal Mint Court is The Trophy Room.
